Abstract:   In 2018, the German technology and service provider Bosch group is considering major changes in its automotive trading sector.Seven years ago, procurement from previously disparate business units was successfully centralised globally and the processes harmonised, resulting in impressive cost savings.The department has recently been criticized for being too slow and inflexible in responding to changing market demands.The analysis and questions presented in this case are designed to deepen the understanding of the impact of student design on the success of a purchase and to stimulate classroom discussion.
