Abstract: Ragentek Holding started its business from providing mobile phone design solutions. The company realized rapid development based on ODM and OEM modes and finally launched its own OVGA brand in the domestic smart phone market. Now observing the matured smart phone market and fierce competition, the company has decided to strategically transform to the 5G driven Internet of Thing industry to seize the new opportunity in the 5G market. While keeping the high-end customized smart phone business in the niche market, the company turns to intelligent software design and hardware manufacturing in the Internet of Thing industry. At the same time, the company also operates high-tech industrial parks both in Shanghai and Shandong Province as a diversification strategy. This case reviews Ragentek’s growth experience and decision-making in its strategic transforming so as to provide a reference for our domestic firms when they face similar problems.
