报告内容摘要

It is increasingly common to see studies that use econometrics to investigate phenomena of interest to the information systems (IS) field. The objective of this talk is to introduce common econometric methods in applied IS research. The focus is to present a set of tools (e.g., difference-in-differences, matching, synthetic control method and regression discontinuity) that help establish causality in empirical research. We will discuss the relative strengths and weaknesses of various methods, and some practical problems in applications.
