In the afternoon on January 5, 2019, the Tongji Lilin-Yuxiang Scholarship Award Ceremony 2018-2018 was held in Conference Room 2208, Building A, Tongji Building. Lei Xinghui, Vice President of Tongji University and Vice Chairman of the Education Development Foundation, Jin Fuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji SEM, Dean Li Yuan, former Dean Huang Yuxiang, and Cheng Guoping, Director of the Alumni and Corporate Relations Office, attended the event. The ceremony was chaired by Zhou Bin, Secretary of the Student Party Branch of Tongji SEM.

This scholarship was jointly set up and donated by students of Professor Zhai Lilin and Professor Huang Yuxiang in 2017. Liu Xinyi, President of Pudong Development Bank Yang Baoming, Chairman of Luban Software Group, Zhang Fuqiang, Deputy General Manager of Ningbo Ligong Online Monitoring Technology Co., Ltd, Gao Hong, General Manager of the Private Banking Department of Pudong Development Bank, Luo Xin, Chairman of Shanghai Juteng Industrial Group, Li Lisheng, Chief Supervisor of Galaxy Fund and other representatives of donors exchanged cordially with the award-winning students and jointly witnessed this touching moment.

Li Yuan expressed his gratitude to Professor Huang Yuxiang and all alumni at the ceremony. He stated that the scholarship not only motivates the award-winning students, but also helps foster a good college culture. Huang Yuxiang emphasized that students should make good use of opportunities and strive to realize their ideals in life. As a representative of alumni donors, Liu Xinyi expressed his gratitude to SEM for cultivation and encouraged the award-winning students to study and practice harder.

Representatives of the award-winning students, Qin Jialiang, Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration Class 2016, Yu Shengbiao, Master degree candidate of Technology Economics and Management Class 2016, Bao Qing, Master degree candidate of Technology Economics and Management Class 2017, and Xu Duo, Master degree candidate of Technology Economics and Management Class 2017 voiced their opinions on the stage. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers and scholarship-donation alumni, and also their determination in continuing to make progress in their future study and life.

Huang Yuxiang and alumni representatives conferred certificates to the award-winning students. Lei Xinghui made a concluding speech, by stressing that teachers and students should contribute persistent efforts to the double first-class construction and the development of Tongji University in the new era.

Zhai Lilin (1915-2003), Professor of Tongji University, Founder of the Economics and Management Discipline, and the first Honorary Dean of Tongji SEM, has served as the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society for Technology and Economic Research and the Management Discipline Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Education. Huang Yuxiang (1940- ), student of Zhai Lilin, graduated from Tongji University majoring in construction economics and organization. Professor of Tongji University, doctoral mentor of technical economy and management major. Former Dean of Tongji SEM, Chairman of the International Advisory Committee of Tongji SEM. Previously, he has served as the Executive Director or Director of China Technical and Economic Research Association, China Fixed Assets Investment and Construction Research Association, Shanghai Management Science Society and the Architectural Society of Shanghai, member of the the Management Discipline Steering Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Education, member of the Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Education, member of the Expert Committee of China International Engineering Consulting Corporation and Shanghai Investment Consulting Corporation.
