Since its launch in August 2021, the “Leading Pioneer” contest—a hallmark event in Shanghai’s digitalization sector—has aimed to build a high-level talent aggregation platform for urban digital transformation. The competition seeks to identify exceptional contributors to Shanghai’s vision of becoming a globally influential “International Digital Metropolis,” showcase the city’s most outstanding digital transformation achievements, and ensure these innovations serve the public good. The participants’ craftsmanship and leadership exemplify the “hardcore strengths” that underpin Shanghai’s soft power.
