摘要：

Prior research attending to female entrepreneurs’ time availability on child supervision gives ambiguous predictions on their childrearing outcomes, with limited empirical evidence. Focusing on child human capital, we draw from occupational inheritance literature to suggest that, beyond supervision, entrepreneur-mothers foster child development through transmitting self-direction values, which promote children’s aspirations and achievements. Using nationally representative Chinese household survey data, we show children with entrepreneur-mothers exhibit better cognitive and noncognitive skills. Analyses reveal both supervision and value transmission mechanisms are present, and value transmission is stronger. By reconciling conflicting views in the literature, our study has both theoretical and practical implications.

演讲人简介：

童迪博士现任上海外国语大学国际工商管理学院助理教授。他于2019年毕业于Drexel大学，获得战略管理博士学位。在此之前，他获得了Miami大学的心理学本科学位。童迪的研究主要围绕雇员流动性和创新创业展开，曾在Advances in Strategic Management的雇员流动性专刊发表论文， 并被EIX杂志报道。
