On 28th, December, the 2015 award ceremony of “Yin Run Scholarship” of Tongji University and the unveiling ceremony of “Yin Run Lecture Hall” of Tongji University were held in Tongji Building A. Liao Chunrong, who is the school governor, an alumnus in 2004 EMBA Program in the School of Economics and Management (SEM) and the president of Shanghai Yin Run Holding Group, along with his wife, Chen Yiyi (deputy president of Tongji University), Lei Xinghui (vice dean of graduate school at Tongji University), Chen Hua (head of the Department of Postgraduate Affairs and director of Management Office in Tongji graduate school) and the students who were awarded Yin Run Scholarship, attended the ceremony together.

The ceremony was hosted by Jin Fuan. At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Lei Xinghui briefly introduced the cooperation between Tongji University and Shanghai Yin Run Holding Group as well as Mr. Liao Chunrong’s contribution to the education cause of Tongji University. Shanghai Yin Run Holding Group set up Yin Run Scholarship at Tongji University in 2003 with the aim of awarding the outstanding and excellent postgraduate students from SEM, College of Architecture and Urban Planning and College of Environmental Science and Engineering at Tongji University. In the centennial celebration of Tongji University in 2007, Mr. Liao Chunrong initiated another donation generously. Up to now, his support for the cause of education of Tongji University has amounted to nearly RMB $10 million.

Later in the ceremony, award certificates were bestowed upon students who were awarded 2015 Yin Run Scholarship by Mr. Liao Chunrong and Mr. Chen Yiyi. Afterwards Mr. Liao Chunrong made a remark and shared his reasons for the set-up of Yin Run Scholarship and his feelings of this requiting behavior with the Tongji teachers and students participating in the ceremony. Then Mr. Chen Yiyi delivered a speech to express his sincere thanks for Mr. Liao Chunrong’s continuous attention and generous donation to his alma mater; he highly esteemed Mr. Liao Chunrong’s great accomplishments in the business world and his support for the education cause of the alma mater; he also expressed his commendation for Mr. Liao Chunrong’s long-term passion in promoting the public welfare; lastly he hoped that all the students attending the ceremony could learn from the excellent entrepreneur Mr. Liao Chunrong and acquire more fine qualities so that they could assume their responsibilities for our country and the society.

Finally, witnessed by the guests, teachers and students on the spot, Mr. Liao Chunrong and the invited leaders of Tongji University unveiled the plague of “Yin Run Lecture Hall” together. Subsequently Mr. Liao Chunrong gave a speech to share with the students his personal growth, his experience in the business world, the original motivation for him to give back to society as well as to give back to the alma mater, and his personal reflections on life. All the students participating in the ceremony have benefited from the one-hour communication with him, and they hoped such interaction could have lasted longer. Satisfactorily, the whole ceremony ultimately came to an end in a warm and exciting atmosphere.
