2016 Spring Semester Welcome Ceremony Held for Int’l Students of SEM

On 26 Feb 2016, the welcome ceremony for new international exchange students of SEM is held at the 3rd floor Lecturing Hall of Tongji Building Block A. Ms. Luisa LU, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Office of SEM presents at the ceremony to deliver a welcome speech and brief on the development and achievement of SEM over the past 30 years. Team of International Cooperation Office, SEM elaborates in detail on the visa registration, academic affairs regulations, and campus life. In the afternoon, a city tour is organized by International Cooperation Office to visit Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center and Shanghai People’s Square to learn about Chinese culture and history.

 

On the 6th of March, Chinese students invite all the international students to an ice-breaking party held by Student Union of SEM. Buddy Program is created to bridge the communication between Chinese students and foreign students by various interactive activities. These will help them to accommodate themselves more quickly into the local life and study and to know more about Chinese Culture.

 

Currently there are 146 International Students registered in SEM this semester from 15 countries and regions, which increases 26% more than last year. And they are from 44 universities around the world. Besides, there are also 40 international students registered before this semester continuing to study here in SEM, most of whom are dual degree students. With the increased internationalization process, SEM draws more and more international students from business schools in Europe and North America, which enjoy high reputation and have established long-term partnership with SEM. Most of them have acquired the accreditation of AMBA, EQUIS or AACSB, the so-called Three-Crown authoritative accreditations for business schools.
