In the last 2015 fall semester, the MOOC course on Engineering Management chaired by Prof. Shizhao DING, Director of Engineering Management Research Institute of SEM, has achieved great success. Prof. Shizhao DING has been once again awarded with the honorary title of “Excellent MOOC Teacher of Chinese Universities”. The course chief faculty, Prof. Shizhao DING, Prof. Guangshe JIA and Prof. Jianguo CHEN have been awardedwith “Excellent MOOC Teacher of Chinese Universities 2014-2015” twice in succession, helping the impact of this MOOC course rising continuously.

The MOOC course on Engineering Management is a star course developed by SEM over the past several years. It is geared to promote the popularization and development of the discipline of engineering management, enhance the level of knowledge and ability of students and professional practitioners in this industry.The coursehas won wide praises after rolled out online. After the course was launched on “i-Course-MOOC Platform of Chinese Universities” on Oct. 10^th, 2014, the registered number of audience amounted to nearly 8000. Based on the experience of course development and feedbacks from audience, a lot of optimizations have been made led by Prof. DING for further improvement. The course was launched on Oct. 12^th 2015 again and this time the registration number has reached an astonishing 31,000, 4 times that of the first one, winning an even wider recognition. This time not only students of engineering management major, industry practitioners, but also faculty of other universities and their students have been attracted to take the MOOC course. The growing influence of MOOC course on EngieeringManagement realizes the sharing of knowledge in disciplines of strength of Tongji, promotes the communication of the theories of engineering management, and help the popularization and development of this discipline.
