SEM Hosted 2017 Doing Business in China Workshop for ESSEC & MANNHEIM EMBA Delegation

From May 22nd to 26th, 2017, SEM successfully hosted a group of Executive MBA students from MANNHEIM Business School to have a five-day workshop on “Doing Business in China”, which was held in Rm201, Tongji Building A.

The workshop consisted of four-day seminars delivered by Tongji professors and with presentations from guest speakers worked as industry leaders, followed by one-day company visit.

Arranged by SEM and Mannheim, the workshop attracted 31 EMBA students with several years of working experience from various industries, mainly in technology, consultation, architecture, IT and finance industries. The whole program offered insights of Chinese business environment, Chinese culture and how to do business in China.

The topics of lectures involved China in Transition, Cultural Aspects of Doing Business in China, China’s Recent Macroeconomic Condition. These foreign students discussed and communicated actively with professors who putting forward their particular perspectives and integrated theories with practice. To better combine the lectures, we also organized a visit to Heidelberg Graphic Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Through the factory tour and the interaction with companies’ executives, students have an intuitive understanding how the foreign companies conduct business in Chinese marketing.
