On the afternoon of March 29, the Hanfu Experience Day for Tongji International Students, co-organized by the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University, the International Students Office of Tongji University, and the Party Working Committee and Office of Quyang Road Street, was kicked off in Tongji SEM Building A.

The event opened with a wonderful folk music performance. The melodious pipa, the crisp flute, the stirring erhu …… various traditional instruments interwoven a moving musical scroll, making the international students feel as if they had travelled back to the heyday of a thousand years ago. The performers attentively played the classical melodies, showing the unique charm of traditional music and creating a strong traditional cultural atmosphere for the scene.

Afterwards, members of the International Department of Tongji SEM and the Hanfu Club gave an in-depth explanation of the origins of Hanfu, its development and design aesthetics. The styles, accessories and wearing etiquette of Hanfu were explained in detail, allowing the international students to gain a thorough understanding of this traditional dress. They then showed the international students how to wear Hanfu, guiding and assisting them to put on this traditional dress that carries a deep cultural heritage. In front of the mirror, dressed in Hanfu, the international students admired their new look with excitement and curiosity on their faces.

After the folk music performance and introduction of Hanfu culture, the event culminated with traditional games such as pitch-pot, archery and ring toss.

At the end of the activity, international students dressed in Hanfu walked along the cherry blossom avenue, enjoying the beautiful scenery of cherry blossoms. They took out their mobile phones to capture this beautiful moment of romantic encounter with spring and traditional culture. In this cherry blossom season, they not only appreciated the beauty of Chinese dress and traditional Chinese culture, but also gained an unforgettable memory.

This traditional culture experience day for Tongji international students ended successfully. Through this activity, students got to understand and gain great passion for Chinese traditional culture.
