Deupty Dean Wenchao LI chaired the full ceremony, which opened with the solemn national anthem.

Executive Vice President Peiming LYU delivered a congratulatory address to all graduates. Facing an era of profound global shifts and technological revolution, he put forward three expectations: to stay down-to-earth and create value with professional insights; to keep learning and distinguish valuable signals amid complex information; and to uphold patriotism and devote themselves to national needs. He also reminded graduates to treat others and themselves kindly for a steady life journey. Party Secretary Qian SHI presented three core qualities as a graduation gift: engineering rigor, humanistic care and national responsibility. He noted AI cannot replace human vision and sense of mission, and invited graduates back for Tongji’s 120th anniversary in 2027. Dean En XIE announced the list of outstanding graduates and encouraged students to pursue self-improvement.

Faculty, student and alumni representatives shared heartfelt speeches. Professor Zhe LIANG urged graduates to hold fast to ideals as life’s guiding beacon. Undergraduate speaker Yijing LI highlighted how SEM cultivated her into an independent problem-solver with global vision, while postgraduate speaker Pengfei DU carried forward the school’s pragmatic spirit and called for integrating personal growth into national development. Alumni representative Liqin JIANG shared decades of career experience, advising young graduates to maintain curiosity, stick to long-term career planning and uphold integrity at all times. Deputy Dean Jian LIANG then announced the list of alumni coordinators to sustain school-alumni connections.

A wonderful art performance followed the speeches. Student Fang HUANG sang *The Wind Rises*, international students staged the English song Can’t Stop the Feeling, and teachers and students performed a mixed dance show, showcasing youthful vitality and the school’s inclusive multicultural atmosphere. The highlight came during the degree conferral session, where Vice President LYU and supervisors hooded each graduate one by one. Graduates presented flowers to leaders and faculty to express sincere gratitude.

Closing the ceremony, Deputy Dean Wenchao LI sent best wishes to all graduates, hoping they would strive for excellence and shoulder social missions. The school looks forward to welcoming all alumni back in 2027 to celebrate Tongji’s 120th birthday.
