Delegation of Warwick Business School Visits SEM

Tue, Jul 14, 2026

On July 6, a delegation led by Prof. Jo HORTON of Warwick Business School (WBS) visited School of Economics and Management, Tongji University (Tongji SEM). Prof. LIANG Jian, Deputy Dean of our school, extended a warm welcome on behalf of the school. The delegation included Dr. Zhun LIU, Senior Teaching Fellow in Finance, and Ms. Danni NING, Recruitment Manager at WBS.

The talks focused on deepening the strategic partnership between the two schools. Both sides exchanged views on future recruitment and promotion of the “3+1+1” Fast Path-Way initiative, and agreed to extend the programme’s eligibility to all students across the whole university. They also discussed curriculum alignment for joint programmes, student selection criteria, and the application for Sino-foreign cooperative education approval from the Ministry of Education. Both parties expressed their commitment to establish a business programme of high reputation and teaching quality, and plan to launch related recruitment and promotional activities this November.

In addition, the two sides had preliminary discussions on potential collaboration at the new Lingang campus, and exchanged views on specific forms of cooperation such as joint teaching and the hosting of a Sino-UK Digital Economy Forum. Both agreed that, against the backdrop of the new technological revolution led by artificial intelligence, we should further explore joint training in frontier areas and jointly redefine the new paradigm of future business education.

Founded in 1967, Warwick Business School is a globally renowned, research-driven institution and among the first UK business schools to achieve the prestigious triple crown accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS).
