On the 3^rd of September, 2011, the welcome ceremony for 2011 professional degree master programs was held in 129 Hall.Over 800 new postgraduates attended the ceremony. Prof. CHEN Yiyi, Vice President of Tongji University, Prof. LIN Jianyi, Deputy Dean of Graduate School, Prof. WANG Guangbin, Deputy Dean of SEM, made welcome speeches. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. SHI Qian, Assistant Dean of SEM. Prof. HUANG Yuxiang, faculty representative and ZHANG Ning, student representative, gave speeches respectively.

 

Vice President CHEN reviewed the founding and development history of Tongji University, and made a briefing on the education reform development such as the current discipline setup and faculty composition.He further expressed his appreciation on students’ on-job learning spirit and encourage them to explore and innovate and conduct scientific research by combining the characteristics of Tongji with the social demands. Dean WANG gave a brief introduction of the distinctive features and advantages of professional degree programs and kindly encouraged students to work hard in the following two years and to finally realize the true value of themselves.
