On May 5^th, 2012, 20 MBA students of our school attended the two-day “Tongji MBA Field Trip to Hangzhou” led by Mr. CHENG Xunbin, Director of MBA Career Development Center. Our MBA students visited Zhejiang Tianchuang Corporation, and attended a soccer game and social networking with MBA faculties and students from Zhejiang University.

 

During the company visit, our MBA alumni from 2005 cohort, Mr. MEI Yi, Vice President of Tianchuang Corporation briefed on the company’s history, competition advantages and development strategy to the students. Zhejiang Tianchuang Group, one of SOEs, is a group company combining a collection of businesses such as optical storage business, real estate development and operation of cultural and creative industries, the import and export trade of the West Lake Longjing tea drink. After the introduction, heated discussion proceeded concerning how the optical drive and carrier in the mature late stage, and the culture industry in the initial development phase, shall position, compete and develop themselves.

 

The students felt that such kind of field trips can not only widen ones vision and facilitate the understanding of on-site corporation operations management, but also promote the communication among Tongji MBA alumni, as well as the cross-regional, inter-institutional MBA students.
