Mr. SHI Qianghua, director of Center for Pujiang Innovation Forum, reported the summary of work of the 2013 forum. The event was a great success which created much value for implementing innovation-driven strategies supported by a series of thoughts and views.

 

Based on the success of the 2013 forum, Mr. XU Jianpei, secretary of the organizing committee, reported the preparatory work of the 2014 forum. The 2014 forum was determined to be held on 18-19 October in Shanghai with the theme of Coordinated Innovation and Sharing Opportunities.

 

Mr. WANG Zhixue indicated that the inviting of important speakers for the 2014 event should be started soon as well as the evaluation work on previous events to ensure the sustainable development of the forum. XU Guanhua concluded that the event should focus more on hot issues and questions that people concern about, in order to build up a more influential forum globally.

 

Initiated in 2008, the ‘Pujiang Innovation Forum’ is jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Municipal Government of Shanghai. Current chair is Mr. Xu Guanhua, the former minister of Most, member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC, director of the Education, Science, Culture, Healthcare and Sports Subcommittee, and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Themed on innovation, with the view of international insight and Chinese characteristics, the forum serves as an platform to promote exchange in innovation, dissemination of advanced ideas, contention of academic thoughts, interaction among government departments, enterprises, universities and research institutes, and release of new policies.
