Vice President of SIEMENS AG Visits SEM

On the afternoon of March 13th, 2014, Mr. Pedro MIRANDA, Corporate Vice President, Head of Corporate, Development Siemens One, Siemens AG and Mr. Lenny SHEN, Senior Vice President, Siemens Center Shanghai, Siemens Ltd. China visited SEM. Prof. HUO Jiazhen, Dean of SEM, Department Chair of Public Administration and Director of Academic Board, Prof. ZHU Dajian, and Prof. HE Fang from the Department of Construction Management and Real Estate met with the guests at our school.
 
 
Mr. Pedro MIRANDA briefed on the Global Green City Strategy of SIEMENS. Currently, SIEMENS has established three research centers in three majors cities worldwide namely, London, UK, Washington, US and Shanghai China, to help promote the ideology of sustainable urban development. Prof. HUO Jiazhen, on the other hand, introduced SEM’s research output in the sustainable development. In particular, he elaborated on the Green Book on China’s Urban Sustainable Development (2011-2012) which propose comprehensive evaluations on the status quo of 35 Big Cities in China and 16 Cities in Yangtze River Delta in the sustainable development.
 
 
Both parties extended strong interests in bilateral cooperation and agreed to be committed to promoting long-term research connections. It is strongly believed that this university-industry cooperation to design an ecological urban mode of sustainable development would provide real beneficial references for the new urbanization in the future.
