Sat, Feb 01, 2025
Recently, the 10th “CFFEX Cup” National University Student Financial Knowledge Competition, jointly hosted by the China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) and the China Futures Association, came to a close. After two rounds of preliminary and semi-final competitions, a total of 15 undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students from School of Economics and Management, Tongji University (Tongji SEM) won various awards including the Grand Prize and First Prize. Particularly noteworthy is that LIAO Shuxian, an undergraduate student majoring in Finance from the Class of 2022, became one of the eight Grand Prize winners nationwide, and is also the first undergraduate student from Tongji to win the top award again after a decade, following the Grand Prize won at the inaugural “CFFEX Cup” in 2014.
In recent years, the Department of Economics and Finance at Tongji SEM has continuously deepened the integration of industry-education and competition-education, forging in-depth collaborations with industry organizations such as the Shanghai Futures Industry Association, Guotai Junan Futures, Dongzheng Futures, and Everbright Futures. These collaborations encompass joint research, talent cultivation, and the integration of competition and education, among other aspects, and have yielded remarkable results. In this 10th “CFFEX Cup” National University Student Financial Knowledge Competition, students from our relevant majors, under the meticulous organization and mobilization of Dr. MA Weifeng from the Department of Economics and Finance, actively prepared for the competition and ultimately achieved outstanding results. ZHONG Ninghua, Deputy Dean of Tongji SEM and Director of the Department of Economics and Finance, commented, “The remarkable results of this competition fully demonstrate the exceptional talent and charisma of our students. We will continue to deepen our cooperation with the industry, providing students with more practical platforms to support their comprehensive growth and development. At the same time, we also hope that our students can continue to strive for excellence, continuously bringing honor to our school, and laying a solid foundation for their future careers.”
