Liuyang Jiao of SEM, Tongji Wins 200m Butterfly Gold Medal at London Olympic Games

London, Aug. 1, 2012, JIAO Liuyang, student from SEM, Tongji, competed in women’s 200m butterfly final of swimming at London 2012 Olympic Games. Liuyang of China claimed the title in this event with 2:04.06. She set a new Olympic record on her way to winning gold in the women’s 200m butterfly. The Beijing silver medallist raced to victory in a time of two minutes 4.06 seconds, beating Spain’s Mireia Belmonte Garcia (2:05.25) into second.
It’s the first time in her career life to win an Olympic gold medal, which is the 17th gold medal for China in London 2012 Olympic Games.
