论坛简介（Seminar Abstract）:
As the fastest-growing major economy in the world, China offers attractive investment and business opportunities. However, China can be a tough place to do business for foreign firms. Even some of the world’s biggest and best multinational companies have stumbled hard in China. There has been increasing number of articles and books discussing opportunities as well as risks and challenges associated with doing business in China. Numerous advice, guidelines and tips are offered in those books or articles.
Reflecting on other people’s real-world experience or mistakes is one approach to learn. This seminar uses the live case of Lexmark (a US Fortune 500 company in IT industry) to share with you the experience and lessons we have learned in doing business in China’s market over the past decade or so. It also shares various efforts we made in dealing with the complexities that arise from China’s unique cultural, historical and political contexts as well as our explorations in aligning our value propositions with local customers’ problems / “headaches.”
