On April 14^th, Tongji SEM was officially informed by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) that SEM has earned the AACSB accreditation, another international accreditation for top business school, adding this second honor to EQUIS with which SEM has been awarded for its reaccreditation for five years. Up till now,Tongji SEM has become the 7^th business school in mainland China that have acquired the Five-year accreditation by the two most authoritative accreditation bodies in the world.

Tongji SEM became the official member of AACSB in 2010 and initiated the accreditation procedure in 2012. From March 21^st to 23^rd, 2016, AACSB peer review experts conducted field trip to evaluate the school’s overall strategic management,program portfolio, faculty, student services,and learning and teaching assurance system.

Reid, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB International. “AACSB Accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees.During this peer-review process, Tongji University confirmed alignment with 15 global accreditation standards, while demonstrating how they achieve success within each of the three pillars on which AACSB accreditation rests—engagement, innovation, and impact.”

AACSB accreditation helps SEM optimize its strategic management process, increase SEM’s teaching quality and research impact, and at the same time promote thefaculty internationalization. SEM willcontinue its commitment to Tongji’s ideology of research-oriented, internationalization and sustainability, to help develop Shanghai to be Science & Technology Innovation Center, to deliver management education with social responsibility, and to lead sustainable development globally.

AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world’s business programs.The other 6 business schools in mainland China that have obtained both EQUIS and AACSB accreditations for five years are: Antai School of Management-Jiaotong University, CEIBS, School of Management-Fudan University, Guanghua School of Management-Peking University, Business School of Renmin University, and School of Management-Zhejiang University.
