Tongji SEM Successfully Re-Accredited by AMBA

On the 14th of October 2016, good news from Association of MBAs (hereinafter referred as AMBA) was announced that SEM MBA and EMBA programs successfully got re-accredited by AMBA, with 5-year accreditation.

The peer review guest group visited Tongji SEM from June 7th to 8th. The group leader is Prof. Andrew Lock, the chairman of AMBA Expert Community and the former dean of Business School of the University of Leeds. The members of the group include Prof. WANG Chongming from Zhejiang University, Prof. Bob O’Connor, the executive dean of Brisbane Business School of Queensland University of Technology and Mr. Georgi Illiev, Marketing Director of AMBA.

The two-day peer review is to make full evaluation of the management team, faculties, programs, students, target and goal, courses and project modes. More than 7 hours interviews and communications were made with program directors, course teachers, students, alumni and employers. The guests also paid a visit to SEM library, classrooms and case study rooms.

The peer review experts appraised for SEM’s progress on its management, key research themes and its internalization since it got AMBA accreditation for the first time in 2011.

The Association of MBAs was founded in 1967. Together with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), they are the so-called Three-Crown authoritative accreditations for business schools. SEM successfully got 5-year re-accreditation by EQUIS and AACSB accreditation in April, this is another great step for SEM.
