SEM Successfully Hosted 2017 Global Energy China Workshop for Warwick Business School EMBA Delegation

From July 1st to 7th, 2017, SEM successfully hosted a group of 37 Global MBAs and 24 executives of ARUP Company from Warwick Business School, took a seven-day workshop on “China Workshop of Global Energy” at School of Economics and Management, Tongji University.

 

The workshop consisted of seminars jointly delivered by Tongji and Warwick faculty, and 3 field trips to companies. Topics as Understanding Chinese Economy, Business in Chinese Society, and Green Development in China have been covered in the workshop. Students discussed and communicated actively with faculty while the faculty elaborated in detail their perspectives combining theories with practice. To help students better understand the green energy related business of companies in China, SEM also organized field trip visits to SAIC Motor, ARUP Shanghai, and Shanghai Waigaoqiao No.3 Power Generation Co. Ltd. Guest speaker from SIEMENS also joined to give speech on the sustainable development of SIEMENS on Smart cities. Through the field trips to companies and the interaction with the company’s management, participants gained a better understanding of how companies involves in the Sustainable Development of energy conservation and efficiency of energy using in China. The participants boast over 10 years of working experience from various industries, mainly in energy, architecture, IT and finance industries.
