After video review, on-the-spot investigation and comprehensive evaluation, Tongji SEM was awarded the honorary title of “2020 Public Security Demonstration Site in Universities” in Shanghai, which was issued by Shanghai Education Commission and Cultural Security Branch of Shanghai Public Security Bureau.

In 2020, after the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, Tongji SEM immediately collected epidemic prevention materials, compiled the “Handbook of Resumption of Work for Epidemic Prevention” and distributed epidemic prevention packages to teachers. With the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, Tongji SEM has continuously optimized the admission approval process. In addition, in response to the large scale resumption of work under the epidemic, Tongji SEM has carried out scientific epidemic prevention all the time, cleaned and disinfected more than 800 air conditioners and fresh air fans in Building A, and hired professional organizations to inspect the building ventilation system, formulate a reasonable air-conditioning operation plan, disinfect public spaces such as classrooms, meeting rooms and elevators, to ensure the safety of people in the building. In response to students’ recruitment, freshmen registration, class resumption, etc., Tongji SEM formulated plans in advance, reasonably planned zones and routes, and ensured normal teaching order under the epidemic.
