Professor CHENG Mingwang Won the 9th “Peikang Chang Development Economics Prize”

Recently, the list of winners of the 9th “Peikang CHANG Development Economics Prize ” was announced. The paper “China’s Economic Growth (1978-2015): Inspiration or Sweat” by Prof. CHENG Mingwang, Deputy Dean of SEM won this award. Professor CHENG has been focusing on the research of development economics for a long time. He is committed to explaining economic growth and social equity from the perspective of resource allocation and public policy, and has made contributions to the study of the interaction between institutions, growth and harmony.
The Peikang CHANG Development Economics Prize was initiated by the Peikang CHANG Development Economics Research Foundation. It is a prize for important achievements (including monographs and papers) and corresponding researchers in the field of development economics based on the theory of how the country can effectively realize industrialization.
