The Summer School for Outstanding Students of the School of Economics and Management, Tongji University aims to select outstanding university students to experience Tongji campus culture, attend top disciplines of the School, attract and select undergraduate talents to pursue postgraduate studies in our university during the summer vacation.

The opening ceremony was held in July. Senior Deputy Dean XIE En extended a sincere welcome to the students and gave a detailed introduction to the history and culture of Tongji, the development of the School, discipline construction, faculty strength, postgraduate training, and the characteristics of talent training.

He emphasized that the development of the School is always student-centred, and he hoped that through the Summer Programme, the students would gain a deeper understanding of the comprehensive, professional and international atomesphere of School of Economics and Management, and have a clearer, longer-term view of their academic development and future career plans.

Deputy Dean Prof. ZHONG Ninghua highlighted the construction and development plan of the School’s disciplines. Our School has currently set up four first-level disciplines and five professional degree programmes. He pointed out that our School focuses on the interdisciplinary integration and is committed to cultivating complex and innovative talents. The postgraduate students will be exposed to more cutting-edge discipline development, richer knowledge vision and broader interaction between teachers and students.

Ms. GUAN Liwei, Head of Postgraduate Admissions, introduced the arrangements of the Summer School. Ms. CAO Xiaoling, Director of the Undergraduate and Graduate Center, announced the successful opening of the Summer School and looked forward to the students benefiting from it.
