The Executive Vice President of ESCP Business School Visits SEM

On the morning of November 17th, Prof. Dr. Simon MERCADO, Executive Vice President of ESCP Business School (hereinafter referred to as “ESCP”) and his delegation visited Tongji SEM. Prof. WANG Hongwei, Deputy Dean of SEM had a meeting with the guests.

Prof. WANG Hongwei, who paid a visit to ESCP in April, extended his warm welcome to the return visit of Prof. Simon MERCADO. The two parties first briefly reviewed the previous collaboration. An In-depth discussion was then held between both parties, committed to building closer cooperation concerning bachelor double degree exchanges and PhD level exchanges. The two parties agreed upon increasing the mutual exchange slots of double degree students by strengthening programs promotion.

On the same day, we coincidentally held the special event “Study Abroad in France” of the 4th “November International Month”. Thus, the delegation joined on site to experience international learning environment and atmosphere of internationalization of Tongji SEM. The delegation had in depth communication with the invited guests, including Prof. QU Chen, Deputy director of Tongji International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Mr. Olivier PEREZ, Head of Campus France Chine-Shanghai, Ms. XUN Jing, Marketing and Program Officer of Campus France Chine-Shanghai, Ms. YANG Anqi, SEM alumni who graduated from Tongji & ESCP master double degree program, Ms. Lou PEREZ, ESCP master student who is currently doing exchange study at SEM, etc. The delegation was deeply impressed by “November Go Global Go Beyond International Month” series event, which is a flagship activity to promote the internationalization of talent training.

In 2005, SEM and ESCP began to launch Double Master’s Degree Program and signed a strategic cooperation agreement in 2013 to further deepen collaboration in teaching, executive training program, scientific research and other areas. In 2019 and 2020, the signing of non-degree exchange agreement and renewal of master double degree agreement separately expanded the mutual students exchange to bachelor and MBA level.

ESCP Europe, affiliated to the Paris chamber of commerce and industry (CCIP), was established in 1819. It has six campuses in Europe, namely Paris, London, Berlin, Torino, Madrid, and Warsaw. ESCP has more than 6000 students. The Master in Management Program was ranked the 4th worldwide in the British Financial Times Ranking in 2023.
