QIAN Yilei, CAI Dongmei and HU Linsan, PhD students of Applied Economics, and JI Yongshun, ZHUANG Yihang and LIU Yiying, Master’s students of Finance, developed an intelligent and visualised platform for monitoring and analysing the dynamics of local debt based on millions of local debt-related data and cutting-edge machine learning models by integrating big data, artificial intelligence and scientific research achievements.

With this project, the team won the first prize of the 2nd China Postgrauate Fintech Innovation Competition, and the instructor of the team, Prof. ZHONG Ninghuai, was awarded the title of Excellent Instructor.

Professor ZHONG Ninghua, Deputy Dean of SEM and instructor of the team, said that he hoped that by promoting students to actively participate in science and technology innovation competitions, students could better understand the new fields and new modes of the financial frontier, and be able to proactively apply their professional knowledge to promote financial science and technology innovations, and grow up to become composite high-level talents to help the construction of the Shanghai International Financial Centre in practice, so as to contribute to the prosperity and development of the financial technology industry in China.
