Humanitarian Affairs UK, in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia, invites 10 Promising Students from Leading Universities to the 5th University Scholars Leadership Symposium to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on August 1 to 7, 2014.

Humanitarian Affairs is a member of the United Nations Global Compact, the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations, World Alliance for Citizens Participation and the International Association for Volunteer Effort.

We aim to provide youths the opportunity to engage in humanitarian service, strengthen their awareness of diverse cultures, and develop a lifelong commitment to helping others by participating in relief efforts to benefit impoverished communities in poverty-stricken countries.

The Phnom Penh Symposium 2014 will include training sessions on leadership and communication, project management and implementation. Three CNN Heroes of the Year :  Chad Pregracke (CNN Hero of the Year, 2013), Pushpa Basnet (CNN Hero of the Year, 2012), Robin Lim (CNN Hero of the Year, 2011), will share their experiences with the 1,000 delegates. Others professional motivational trainers will inspire the delegates to take concrete action over their lives.

Humanitarian Affairs believes in the holistic development of global-minded and forward thinking leaders. Encountering different cultures and providing aid to those suffering abroad facilitates both intellectual and emotional development. Most importantly, this process helps to bring education, relief and warmth to the to the communities in need.
