Halloween Carnival Night held by SEM Come to an Successful End

Mon, Nov 04, 2013

On the evening of 31 October, Halloween Party organized by the School of Economics and Management together with the SEM International Department was held at the glass house inside the University Students Center of Activity.

The party, themed with “costume ball”, has attracted a great number of students from home and abroad. There were “ghosts”, ”vampires”, ”zombies”, ”witches”…Many students made up meticulously for the party. And some had their faces painted to strengthen visual wallop. The glass house was full of the atmosphere of Halloween.

The party begun with Jack-O-Lantern making. Attendees were divided into several groups and each group made one lantern together. Everyone was filled with enthusiasm and all groups finished their creative, lovely Jack-O-Lanterns soon.

Then under the guidance of hosts, most attendees joined in two games: “passing on the rope” and “blind ghosts catching people”. The games were intense as well as interesting, everyone enjoyed themselves and laughter could be heard from time to time.

The major part of the party was the costume ball. From elegance waltz to relaxing rabbit dance, everyone was hand in hand, dancing to the music together by tacit agreement. Some experienced dancers even came on the center stage and danced hot dance, winning lots of applauses and cheers.

Through this event, students were able to enjoy Halloween and express themselves. Chinese students could even learn something about western culture. What’s more, we do hope this kind of activity can promote the friendship between overseas and Chinese students, and more people will like these activities.
