On the afternoon of March 1^st, Sunday, supported by the International cooperation office of SEM, the new semester’s Buddy Program was successfully held by International Department of the Student Union of SEM in Tongji building A.

 

Two classrooms were full of attendants. The enthusiastic conversation between both Chinese and foreign students made the atmosphere on the spot fairly lively.Later, some groups began to play board games and build blocks. Foreign students and their buddies soon got familiar with each other. The organizer also offered various snacks and drinks and many foreign students brought special native snacks as well for all the attendants present to enjoy.

 

The whole activity lasted about 2 hours. Buddy Program aims at providing an opportunity for Chinese and foreign students to learn the different culture and experience the cross-culture communication, which can not only help foreign students adjust to new school life and better learn about Chinese culture, but also broaden the Chinese students’ horizon and strengthen the friendship between them as well. Near the end of the activity, the organizer introduced the follow-up activity —— Weekend Trip so that Chinese and foreign students can travel around Shanghai together and have more chance to get along with each other. They are all looking forward to the next gathering.
