SEM Successfully Hosted 2015 DBIC Workshop for MIP Graduate School of Business, Politecnico di Milano, Italy

From June 1st to 5th, 2015, 25 Executive MBA students from MIP Politecnico di Milano (Italy) participated 5-day “Doing Business in China” workshop in Tongji-SEM.
These EMBA students with average working experience of over 8 to 10 years are from various industries, mainly in logistics, pharmacy, IT, finance as well as media. They have participated in a series of activities within 5 days about China’s economy, Chinese culture and the methods to make successful business. The courses are divided into three parts: lectures, company visits as well as culture visit.
The topics of lectures cover Understanding Chinese Business Culture, Introduction to Chinese Economy, Strategies in International Procurement, China in Transition as well as Foreign Direct Investment. These foreign students discussed and interacted actively with professors who shared their particular insights and integrated theories with practice. The company visits which combine closely with the lecture contents were very helpful to facilitate student’s comprehension. The executive managers elaborated from the perspective of enterprise management in Chinese market and equip students with better comprehension of China’s economy and its market. Besides, cultural visits were arranged to show unique characteristics of Chinese culture to foreigners.
