Tongji SEM will send 164 students to 47 partner schools around the world for exchange in academic year 2015-2016. The number of exchange students this year increases 17% compared with that of last year. The increase is believed to be connected to the new high-quality partners established last year, namely Arizona State University in the US, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands, and ED HEC in France. There are 60 students selected into the double degree programs, and 104 in the non-degree exchange programs. Statistics shows postgraduates are more active in taking part in exchange programs with an overwhelming 65% of the total number. Students also present more proficiency in English skills than the previous years.

What’s more, the number of SEM students awarded with the Chinese Government Scholarship by China Scholarship Council (CSC) has a tremendous rise of 52% compared with last year. 50 postgraduates and 8 undergraduates have got the CSC scholarship, a stunning 88% of the number of the whole university. In addition, SEM sets aside its own scholarship to sponsor 17 students whose family has financial difficulties but very excellent in academic performance to go abroad to broaden their international vision. Another three students were awarded with French Eiffel Excellence Scholarship by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are studying in ESCP Europe, France to continue pursuing their Master’s degrees this September.

International cooperation and exchange is one of SEM’s significant features and advantages. SEM keeps exerting a lot of efforts to establish new international partners, to find funding of scholarships for our students to encourage them go abroad. Just as our mission goes, SEM is committed to develop leading professionals for China and the world who are capable of solving practical problems while addressing the challenges of business and society with a global perspective, responsibility and in a sustainable way. This could never be realized if we do not help them broaden their horizons in international learning experience in today’s world.
