SEM Successfully Hosted 2018 “Sustainable Logistics Operation” Workshop for Kuehne Logistics University MBA Delegation

From March 19th to 23rd, 2018, a group of 9 MBA students from Kuehne Logistics University (KLU) took part in a five-day program on “Sustainable Logistics Operation” hosted by SEM Tongji University. Though students vary greatly in nationalities, educational experience and industry backgrounds, they share the common goal as to optimize the logistics management in their fields.

 

The 5-day workshop consists of seminars jointly delivered by Tongji and KLU faculties, and Logistics-related company visits. Topics such as Understanding Chinese Economy, Designing Low Footprint Distribution Networks, Warehousing, Implementing Lean and Green Logistics and Managing Multiple Complex Expectation Effectively have been covered in teaching. Tongji faculty analyzed Chinese-featured green logistics from the perspectives of Chinese macro-economic, sustainability, and the trend of logistics. SEM arranged visits to Bosch, Volkswagen and BestWay to helped students better understand and compare the operation models and logistics management differences from overseas enterprises. Students not only had chance to have high-end dialogue with company executives, but also got to visit manufacturing sites.

 

Kuehne Logistics University (KLU) is a private, state-accredited university located on Hamburg’s harbor, founded in 2010.
