On December 1, the 2019 Shanghai Finance Professional Degree Graduate Education Conference was held, and the results of the 2nd Shanghai Master of Finance Dissertation Competition were announced. Two graduates from Tongji MF program won the Excellence Award with their scores ranking the first and the second among the recommended dissertations. The two outstanding dissertations are: “Research on Commodity Futures Investment Strategies Based on Inventory Deviation and Momentum” written by 16MF He Qingqing and directed by Teacher Bian Baojun from the School of Mathematical Sciences, and “Is LGFV Bonds’ Financing and Investment Effective? -From the perspective of infrastructure investment efficiency and LGFVs’ financial conditions” written by 16MF Wang Yalin of 16mf and directed by Teacher Zhong Ninghua from School of Economics and Management.

The Master of Finance (MF) program of Tongji University began in 2010. Tongji is one of the first 85 institutions authorized by the state to grant Master of Finance degree. Since 2014, with the strong support and promotion of the university, TJ-MF is jointly operated by the School of Economics and Management and the School of Mathematical Sciences of Tongji University to recruit, train and manage students together. The year of 2019, the first five years of TJ-MF under the cooperation of the two cross-disciplined institutes, witnesses triumphant news coming in succession: At the beginning of the year, Tongji MF officially became one of the CFA UAPs. Near the end of the year, the results of various academic and industrial competitions were announced. Tongji MF won 2 Excellence Awards in the National MF Dissertation Competition and another 2 Excellence Awards in Shanghai MF Dissertation Competition. The number of awards ranks the first among the universities all over the nation. In the first Sina Jinqilin Best Analysts and Most Potential Analysts Competition, three graduates of Tongji MF won their qualifications. It has been proved that TJ-MF fulfills its educational goal with actual high-qualified graduates.
