GONG Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shanghai, recently hosted an expert symposium on the economic situation, exchanging views with six experts from domestic universities, think tanks and institutions, and listening to the experts’ research, judgment and analysis of the current economic situation, as well as their opinions and suggestions on the next stage of Shanghai’s systematic planning. WU Qing, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai, attended the symposium.

Professor ZHONG Ninghua, Deputy Dean of Tongji SEM, was invited to give a speech, offering advice and suggestions on optimizing the power point of fiscal policy and cultivating new economic growth points. At the symposium, experts made in-depth analysis and elaboration on topics such as strengthening the core functions of the city, deepening reform and expanding opening up, promoting industrial development in depth, and integrating services into the new development pattern, combining their own research fields, and they also offered suggestions for Shanghai to optimize policies and measures. Professor ZHONG Ninghua proposed to optimize the driving force of fiscal policy, use limited funds on the edge, play a role in stabilizing growth, and actively cultivate new growth points.
