The 19th Annual Conference of the Research Chapter of Professional Management in Construction in the Architectural Society of China (ASC-PMC 2024), jointly organized by the Engineering Management and Engineering Cost Teaching Guidance Branch of the Ministry of Education, and Tongji University, was successfully held from May 17th to 18th, 2024 under the guidance of the China Architecture Society at Tongji University. The annual conference invited nearly 40 domestic and foreign speakers, including academicians in the field of engineering management, renowned experts and scholars, and enterprise representatives. In response to the current complex and ever-changing engineering project environment, the conference focused on the transformation and innovation of engineering management, and deeply explored the future development direction, innovative practice, disciplinary development, and talent cultivation of engineering management. More than 400 experts, scholars, teachers, and industry colleagues from the field of engineering management at home and abroad attended this annual conference.

The opening ceremony and main forum of the annual conference were held in the auditorium of Tongji University. Mr. XIU Long, Chairman of the Architectural Society of China, and Professor LV Peiming, Executive Vice President of Tongji University, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor WANG Guangbin of Tongji University, Chairman of the Engineering Management Research Branch of the Architectural Society of China.

At the same time as the annual conference, a seminar on the transformation and innovation of engineering management talent cultivation under the new situation and the second meeting of the 9th Council of the Engineering Management Research Branch of the Architectural Society of China were also held.

This annual conference brought together cutting-edge concepts from both domestic and international perspectives, closely integrating scientific research, practical innovation, talent education, and technological research and development in engineering management. It highlights the crucial role of engineering management talents in interdisciplinary research and cross disciplinary integration, and points out the direction for in-depth research and industry development in the field of engineering management.
