Prof. Dajian Zhu Attends Global Green New Deal Conference

Invited by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Prof. Dajian Zhu, vice director of Institute of Urban Development and Management and dean of the Department of Public Administration, attended Global Green New Deal Conference held on Jan 31-Feb 6 at UN headquarters in New York.
 

Global Green New Deal is proposed by UN to call on the worldwide governments to handle the economic crisis in a way that benefits both the economy and the environment in the long run. Prof. Zhu is known to have made pioneering researches in circular economy system, which combines economic development with environmental development, and its policy promotion. He is the only Chinese among all international experts invited at this conference, and was also invited by UNEP to the relevant “Green Economy Initiative” expert consultation meeting last December. Since 1998, Prof. Zhu has been studying the circular economy system and sustainable management. His name is on the top 10 list of management experts that win the most media exposure in 2008.
