Vice President of the University of Manchester visited SEM

On the afternoon of November 11th 2013, Professor Keith Brown, Vice President of the University of Manchester, Professor Fiona Devine, Head of Manchester Business School, Mr. Nigel Banister, Chief Global Officer of Manchester Business School and Ms. Sherry Fu, Regional Director of Manchester Business School in China visited our school. This is the first time for Professor Brown and Professor Devine to visit Tongji University. Prof. Wu Zhiqiang, Vice President of Tongji University and Prof. Huo Jiazhen, Dean of SEM met the distinguished guests.


Since the two partners set up Tongji-Manchester Dual Degree MBA Programme in 2009, the cooperation between both sides has gone further and the two universities have formed a strategic partnership of mutual trust. During the meeting, both universities discussed further cooperation of ME, MBA, IEDP and Sino-Europe innovation research, establishing a firm strategic cooperative partnership. Two universities renewed the agreement and exchanged gifts.


The University of Manchester is world renowned for its academic and research excellence. Its MBA ranks among the best not only in Europe but also in the world. The 2013 Financial Times survey ranks its MBA 5th in UK, 11th in Europe and 29th worldwide and it was awarded one of ‘The Best University’ in UK. Students will be awarded double MBA degree, respectively from Tongji University and the University of Manchester and post-graduate diploma from Tongji University upon successful completion of the programme.
