On the 2^nd, 9^th and 16^th of December2014, SEM’s Information Sessions of Outgoing Exchange Programs for AY 2015-2016 were held at both Jiading and Siping campus, with nearly 500 students attended, including undergraduates, postgraduates and MBA students. SEM’s exchange programs cover over 70 partners from 22 countries in the world, among which 16 are Double Degree Programs and 62 Non-degree Exchange Programs.

 

The information session consists of four sections: General Info of SEM’s International Cooperation Programs; Briefing on Application Procedure and Notes; Promotions from Student Representative and Partner University; and Interactive Consultation by Areas

 

Ms. SHOU Yuexian, Director of the International Cooperation Office of SEM, briefed on the school’s current internationalization and development, while encouraging more students to go aboard to broaden their international horizon. Application procedures and admission criteria were introduced in detail afterwards. Six foreign students from our partner universities, namely University of St. Gallen, University of Strasbourg and Aalto University, presented their home universities to the Chinese students. Besides, representatives of Erasmus University Rotterdam School of Management, University of Exeter, London Business School and Kuhne Logistics University, also prompted their Universities respectively in the session. At last, interactive Q & A session was arranged by different regions to help students know more about SEM’s partner schools and application procedure.

 

In Particular, in order to develop students with international perspective, SEM increases the financial supports for scholarships, and participate proactively in the university and National CSC scholarships applications to encourage our students to go abroad. In the exchange program of 2014-2015, 16 students have been sponsored by SEM to go abroad. Among the 16 CSC Outstanding International Exchange Program of Undergraduates of Tongji University, 9 programs are from SEM. Among 35 students sponsored by the CSC International Joint Exchange Program of Postgraduate of Tongji University, 33 students are from SEM.

 

 

With retrospect to the past international programs, the quality of the programs is continuously improving. At the moment, SEM has signed agreements with 70 more international partners, and the total exchange opportunities amount to over 300. Among those exchange programs, there are partnerships with top business schools like, IE Business School from Spain, Weatherhead School of Management from Case Western Reserve University from US, Carey School of Business of Arizona State University from US, St. Gallen University from Switzerland, ESCP Europe and ED HEC from France.

 

All the international exchange program information has been shared on the school’s website for students’ easy access. In addition, online share of Baidu cloud disc has been created where students could easily download the introduction of each partner school, a helpful way to choose a program suitable for them.
