On the 27^th of September, Prof. Matthias Ruth, Vice President (Research) and Dr. Cen Huang, Interim Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President for International Affairs from the University of Alberta, Canada, visited Tongji SEM. Prof. CHEN Song, Deputy Dean of SEM, met with the guests and potential cooperation between the two universities was discussed.

Prof. CHEN briefed SEM’s current development and features of internationalization and disciplines. Foreign guests introduced the advantage of University of Alberta and its Clic Program which supports Canadian students to study in China. The two parties further discussed potential collaboration in PhD joint supervision. In addition, foreign guests also met with Prof. Dajian ZHU, and his research team from Tongji University Sustainable Development and New-Type Urbanization Think-Tank. The two parties explored joint research potentials in relative fields.

University of Alberta is a top research university in Canada and has been consecutively ranked as the top 5 Canadian research university by Maclean’s Magazine in Canada. Tongji SEM has sent several PhD students to it for exchange.
