SEM Tongji-CIOB Center Established

On the afternoon of November 20, 2010, Memorandum of Understanding between School of Economics and Management (SEM) and The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) was signed in Yifu Building, Tongji University. Mr, Fuming JIANG, Deputy Chief Director of Tongji University and Mr. Jiwei SUN, Chairman of CIOB, China and Head of Jiading District, Shanghai and other guests attended the ceremony.
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is a professional body which represents, on behalf of the public, a diverse range of professionals who work within the construction industry. CIOB was established in 1834 and on the 1st of July, 2010, the renewal of Sino-British Mutual Recognition Agreement of Project Management was signed in Tongji University by CIOB and Assessment Commission of Higher Education in Engineering Management, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
SEM-CIOB Center is established to strengthen the development of professional talents their qualities. The Center provides the CIOB applicants with a training opportunity in the following aspects.
- To deeply understand the CIOB’s mission and philosophy;
- To master the systematic, comprehensive and advanced building management theories, systems and methods;
- To learn from the cases of international and domestic leading construction enterprises;
- To develop an International perspective, modern ideas and professionalism;
- To enhance the leadership and execution;
- To better understand updated news of economic and architecture development of China and the world;
- To improve decision-making capacity of complex business issues;
- To listen to lectures by global architects and academic leaders sharing successful enterprises experience;
- To do research on the development of China’s construction industry;
- And to discuss the developing prospects of International construction market and make strategic plans.
